Skala is the commercial harbour for the Island, and for most visitors this where you will disembark on the island. Most of the islands residents live in Skala.

The streets are narrow, and there are no footpaths, so mopeds, cars, donkeys and pedestrians all share these narrow thoroughfares!

Do not be misled by this quiet street, when the Cruise ships dock, and particularly in high season - these streets are jam packed! There are many shops selling everything from religious souvenirs, clothing, electrical goods and even a pet shop!
