Skala is the commercial harbour for the Island, and for most visitors this where you will disembark on the island. Most of the islands residents live in Skala.

The new harbour is being built away from the centre, follow the road around past the Hotel Chris to see work in progress.

There is a small strip of sandy beach along this stretch of teh harbour, where those holidaymakers who prefer not to make the journey to the many other beautiful beaches on the island can bee seen sunbathing and swimming.
