This side of the island, while not having the best sunbathing beaches is now being developed, particularly at this point as the town of Skala spreads.

Make a point of spending the end of at least one day of your visit watching the sun disappear over the horizon. Take a drink at the 'Cactus Bar' just behind the beach, then wander back through the narow streets to the main square.
