The Holy Greek Island of Patmos, one of the Dodecanese group of Greek islands in the Aegean.

This view is half way 'up' the island, heading for the Monastery of St. John. The harbour town of Skala can be clearly seen with the white painted houses spreading from the port.

Facing the port, directly behind you is the town of Chora and the Monastery, another hairy scooter ride awaits as the road winds towards the summit.

Take extra care on this road if one of the big cruise ships has docked, as the (10) taxis on the island maximise their earnings by ferrying the maximum number of tourists to and from the port in the minimum amount of time.
